We never stay in posh hotels because we really only use the hotel to sleep, but wow! that place is a stunner.

Hi, I listen to the podcast on Pocketcast and less frequently on YouTube Music. Was the Hong Kong episode released on June 27th? I'm not seeing it in either app so just wanted to check if this is a me problem or if anyone else is seeing this. Thanks!

Hello, hello! You're not missing the episode... we had to postpone it. We had a death in the family, and it's thrown us off our schedule. We'll be back to a regular posting schedule as soon as we can. We have a trip to the States to get through, then we'll be back in podcasting mode. Thanks for your patience!

Among other links, I got lost in the article about the best first-class plane seats - I didn´t know seating like that even existed. Too bad I don´t have any long-haul flights planned in the near future (just kidding)… And the summer reads list is great!

I hope you can stay inside and keep cool, Mel; here, temperatures in the mid-90s are predicted for Wednesday. Perfect lemonade weather! :-)

OMG, those first-class seats! I would love to be able to lie down on a trans-Atlantic flight. Magic!

I, too, am reading The House on Buzzards Bay - I just started it so no real opinion yet. I am certainly drawn to the setting, so that part works. I am just coming off a wonderful 5 star read, so I had to take a day before starting Buzzards. I made the transition by watching Rear Window last night - omg Grace Kelly and her beautiful clothes. . . oh yes, the five star read is Husbands and Lovers by Beatriz Williams. So good. Two timelines, at the beach on LI or one of the islands off LI, present day, and Cairo set around 1952. Loved it - I almost took it back to the library unread because I thought it was just another romance/women's fiction, and it was but it was so good!!!! Can you tell i really liked it. Stay cool Mel. We had a few days of over 100 degrees in Denver, but now its back to a mellower high 80's, low 90's.

Oooh, when you finish The House on Buzzards Bay can you pop back here or send me email (mel@strongsenseofplace.com) and let me know what you think? I loved it until the ending — and I would love to talk about it with you!

Husbands and Lovers sounds so good!

It's going to be in the low 90s (F) here this week. I'm staying inside! ;-)

I haven’t gotten far into reading this …but I was gobsmacked by the first article! Here in oz we haven’t heard nearly a 10th of what has been happening in USA….its unbelievable!

So I rushed through the 25 books recommended…to give my heart time to calm down…then sighed with delight at the art deco rooms in the hotel! My fav. era….the 80’s are a no for me..too much WHITE..I love colour!

Keep cool Mel..perhaps if I tell you at 7 am where I am it was -2 feels like -5 you’ll feel better?

Or not…..pass the lemonade regardless….
