Any book can be a beach read if you read it on the beach.
The phrase ‘beach read’ has come to mean a certain thing — easy, breezy, maybe thriller-y or romance-y — but we are strongly of the opinion that any book is a beach read if you read it on the beach.
Given that we are currently living in a landlocked country, we’ve gotten less picky about beaches. Tiny pebbles, soft sand, crashing surf, gentle rollers, rainy days, sunny skies: We appreciate it all on the special occasions we can get smacked in the face with salty air.
