Sorry if I missed this information anywhere, but is there going to be another season of the podcast? I really love it and I’m just catching up and also re- listening to previous seasons.

Wow! I have always wanted to see Egypt….but I would need a Time Machine to travel back to about 1890 To 1930……

Would also recommend reading Elizabeth Peters Amelia Peabody mystery/ archaeology books

Great fun!

Better still get the 3 volume set of Howard Carter…fantastic!

I agree... I think the Egypt I want to visit is the one that exited in that time period when it was all romantic and posh (with the stipulation that I know colonialism is a problem). Those Amelia Peabody books are so much fun!

What, another reader who is championing my favourites, the Amelia Peabody series and the Howard Carter set. Terrific books, especially when read together (carefully meshing the timelines.)

I have been to Egypt, back in 2007, with my family - we had a lovely time and all agree that we would sail the Nile again in a heartbeat.

I have wanted to go to Egypt forever! The current plan is to go in early 2027. I will read the book you recommended! The video about making a book lie flat is genius! On a side note, I just got back from a Danube River cruise that ended in Prague. What a glorious city! I can see why you chose to live there.

I hope you had a lovely time on your Danube cruise! We did the route from Bucharest to Budapest with my parents a few years ago, and it was really special.

Isn't that lie-flat trick neat? Who knew?!

I spent 2 weeks in January touring Egypt with some well known Egyptologists. All I can say is -- however inspiring photos are, the reality is so much more. for anyone interested in history or the pharaohs, please go!

I'm glad to know you think that because so many people have said NOT to travel to Egypt — and it seems so fascinating. I would love to visit the new Egyptian Museum Cairo.

Everything I hear/learn about Egypt blows my mind. Campbell Price did a whole series on the History Extra podcast that was filled with amazing stories.
