Such a diverting newsletter!! The roadside attractions had me laughing aloud and remembering the huge statue of a Canada Goose at my hometown (Wawa, Ontario, Canada) as well as The Enchanted Forest (Snow White seemed so life-like in her glass coffin, with the evil apple fallen nearby) and other glorious sites that little me just adored. Plus, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - I have the book with the original illustrations and have loved that story forever.
Also, I can totally picture the vampires and ghosts in the Ksaiz Castle. I'll meet you there for the weekend. Bring some pecan pie along for snacks.
Great newsletter! Those castle links were amazing and I can equally imagine a lovely castle-hotel stay minus horror shenanigans AND a horror-type movie where all watchers are yelling at characters to not even enter in the first place! Those tunnels were very creepy looking and the perfect set up for dark, Nordic Noir series (I mean...minus NOT being physically Nordic, but the same vibes).
The LitHub article about cruises was really interesting. I think I put about 6 books on hold at my library -- so I'll be reading those and continuing to binge Below Deck.
Strong agree about a creepy castle experience. Sign me up immediately! How cool would it be if a screenwriter took that unspecific fact about the Nazi tunnels and ran with it?! Would also accept a novel. Or mini-series. Or all three.
Have you read The Last Cruise? I loved it so much. AND YES TO BELOW DECK. Did you know Dave and I have seen every episode (of every variation) ever produced? Such a weird brag, but here we are.
Just a head's up, there is (in addition to Victorian detectives) a deep dive class into Wuthering Heights through the Rosenbach, starting end of April. I am enrolled in it, and am so looking forward to it.

The Enchanted Forest! Amazing. A rendezvous at Ksaiz Castle you say? OK!
Photo reminds me of The Grand Budapest Hotel film - it was so great.
I love that movie! Definitely in my lifetime top 10.
Really a goodie. I have to watch it again! The bellhop in the elevator scene was so funny. (whole film was funny).

Great newsletter, Mel. Thanks for all you do.

I'm glad you like it! :-) Thank you for letting me know. That's nice.
I seriously considered that Wuthering Heights class! It looks SO good.
Thanks for the link! Also, Australia has amazing roadside attractions! And almost finished with the Paris Express.
