As you prepare for your Portugal episode, please read A Devil on Her Tongue by Linda Holeman. It’s such a unique story and gives great context to Portugal as a colonizing country. I’ve been to Portugal several times, it’s so easy for us (my husband is Brazilian). I can’t wait to hear the episode soon!
Thank you for the recommendation! We've already recorded our Portugal episode, but it's always great to have more suggestions for the follow-up after the show.
Thanks for all the fantastic info and links (again)! Having been a teenager in the 80s, Roger Moore was the first Bond I watched, and I immediately had to watch the clip about the locations in Sardinia. So fun - thank you!
Same! Roger Moore was my Bond — but now I'm firmly in the Daniel Craig camp. My favorite is Skyfall, and/but I have a soft spot for View to a Kill because of the Duran Duran theme song!
Oh my goodness! This is so rich with ideas…and I know they will lead me down a few rabbit holes….its sat. Morning here..I had a to do list…looks like it’s not happening for a while!
Those fashion drawings! Stunning….and I love aniseed too..aniseed lolly sticks..we call them slate pencils in Aussie, because that what they look like but taste yum!
Yay Michigan! Yay manor house! Season 7 will be fun!
There are SO many good options for Michigan! I'm excited!
First, May 30th can't get here fast enough.
Second, Sardinia is high on our list.
Third, I totally remember that car turning into a submarine!
1. YAY!
2. Us, too! Also very tempted by Corsica, and I want to go to Sicily to visit my grandfather's village. ALL THE ISLANDS!
3. Me, too! Roger Moore was 'my' Bond growing up.

Ok…I know you have a lot of reading for your upcoming episodes, but keep this title on your TBR, it’s such an impressive story!

I had to google the lolly sticks. Um — do they all look like this? They look like chalk!
