This was almost my favorite LoLT episode ever! I adored the story of your manic, epic, continent-spanning quest for the Holy Croissant. It truly brightened my day.
I was late for a Zoom meeting today b/c I stood outside my house away from the computer, listening to discover if you found a worthy croissant in Paris. And was so satisfied when on your last day you bit into the almond croissant that exploded all over you. Neighbours probably wondered why I stood there laughing and clapping my hands. Great story! Thanks so much for sharing
I *did* see that, and I'm not exaggerating when I say I gasped out loud. That is very exciting news! (Thank you for knowing I would be happy about that.)
I just listened to your WSIRN episode and loved it! As a Maine person, I have some books to add to your list of Maine books: “The Road to Dalton” and “Where the Forest Meets the River” both by Shannon Bowring. These as AMAZING books with a very strong sense of place! I’d also recommend “The Cliffs” and “Maine” both by J. Courtney Sullivan.

Ah, that's so nice! Thank you — I'm glad you enjoyed it. I hope you get to Paris to try a Moon Croissant some time :-)
When I go I will check ahead of time to make sure it hasn’t moved to Madrid or somewhere!
Those wily croissant bakers! Gotta keep an eye on 'em.

Oh! I love this. Sorry my croissant odyssey made you late for a meeting, but I'm kinda happy it did ;-)
I think I held my breath for the whole penguin video. Never seen anything like it. I'm now subscribed to National Geographic's videos. Thank you.
Right? So suspenseful... and then really cute.
Thank you for the link to the Elinor Lipman interview. Melissa, did you see she's working on a sequel to The Inn at Lake Divine? So exciting!

We just visited the little blue penguins at the Birch Aquarium in La Jolla last week and they were so adorable!
Is that David Tenant in a smashing suit? OMG
Loved your podcast with Anne Bogle!
How fun! Penguins are so silly and cute in their little tuxedos and their waddle.
YES, that's my bestie DT.
I watched the Penguins - amazing. And the talk about Croissants was hard because I do love them too.
Mmmmm... buttery croissants.
