So so exciting and gladly, sadly envious (this is real feeling) for those who have signed up! What a fantastic community-building, bookclubby group gathering... in a manor! with poisons! and long staircases! and fancy multi-plate meals where awesome, multi-accented, maybe a little snooty (in a good way) conversations will take place. Looking forward to the amazing stories that will emerge from this event~
Every time I joke about poisoned teacups I get in trouble with Dave ;-) but I bet 90% of the people who read our announcement thought of that first, too. I can only hope a snooty conversation breaks out at dinner. I wish I were better at accents because I would love to put one on a la Maggie Smith or Poirot.
If all goes well in October, we'll probably do it again — and we'll definitely share photos and stories after.
Last week I read the audiobook of Grave Expectations by Alice Bell, so while I was listening to the podcast announcement I couldn’t help but think it was a (funny) cautionary tale about holding a seance at a country estate 🤣🤣🤣
