No matter the mood I’m in, if “September” by Earth, Wind & Fire comes on, I’m at least bopping my head along if not dancing and singing.

Dave and I saw them in concert way, way back in the day. When they sang, "Do you remembah..." everyone went crazy. Such a feel-good experience.

A friend of mine told me a story about this song. He (white male in his 60s) was in CVS and the song was playing on the PA. He was nodding his head along to the music. Around one corner came a young African American man, nodding his head along to the music. Then around the other corner came an aging biker dude, nodding his head along to the music. EW&F is universal!

This is mine too! It’s the first thing that came to my head when I read today’s question! Never fails to put me in a good mood.

But also have to mention my all time favorite song: I Melt With You by Modern English. The first time I heard it, it stopped me in my tracks.

Build Me Up Buttercup by the Foundations--so FUN to sing and belt it out!

Why do you build me up (Build me up)

Buttercup, baby

Just to let me down? (Let me down)

And mess me around

And then, worst of all (Worst of all)

You never call, baby

When you say you will (Say you will)

But I love you still

I need you (I need you)

More than anyone, darling

You know that I have from the start

So build me up (Build me up)

Buttercup, don't break my heart

I grew up watching my parents dance in the kitchen to that song at least once a week. It is my childhood theme song. Just thinking about it makes me miss my dad so much!

Today we took our two grandsons to lunch. The restaurant was playing Build Me A Buttercup. Without any prompting, my four year old grandson said, "Grandma, I love this song." I guess this song will endure for another generation.

"Livin' on a Prayer" by Bon Jovi! Never gets old hearing the Notre Dame student band play it with the students singing it at football games, especially when Jon Bon Jovi is at the game. And then there is "Simply the Best" by Tina Turner....legend. Mel and Dave - can we modify our UK playlist based on this post? :) So many great songs shared.

I love, Love, LOVE this Tuesday Tea! Agree with every single one of the songs already here (and I also love that some of them are new to me, so I get to expand my "happy" playlist!)

A few that jumped out at me as soon as I saw the question:

-Walkin' on Sunshine, Katrina & the Waves

-I Gotta Feeling, The Black Eyed Peas

-The Long Way Around, The (formerly "Dixie") Chicks

-Learn to Fly, Foo Fighters

-Life to Fix, The Record Company (This last one isn't super happy, but more about getting your sh*t together However, it's got such a catchy bass line & drum beat that you can't help bouncing along . . . and it's the perfect song to get you out of a funk!) NOTE: Mel, I haven't tried this one while laying on the floor, but it just might work for one of those personal time-outs!

Strong agree! And as much as I love the Foo Fighters, my favorite performance of this song is from the Rockin' 1000 . . . the 1000 people from Italy who performed it as a request to get the band to play a concert there. Impossible not to get hepped up watching it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JozAmXo2bDE

Amazing how this first performance started a movement!
